Lynn Butcher, APRN, BC, ANP
Adult Nurse Practitioner
Lynn Butcher, APRN, BC, ANP is a Licensed Adult Nurse Practitioner with more than 15 years experience in orthopedics, and has been employed at Hovis Orthopaedic Clinic since 2001. Lynn assists Dr. William Hovis in surgery and outpatient care. Her proficiency and organization skills are an asset while supervising surgical preparation, intraoperative anticipation, and post-operative patient needs.
Lynn earned a Master of Science Degree as an Adult Nurse Practitioner and a Bachelor Degree in Nursing from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Katie Vanhooser, PA-C
Physicians Assistant
Katie Vanhooser, PA-C works as a Physician Assistant with Dr. David Hovis. She is first assist in surgery as well as in clinic. Katie holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Murray State University and completed the Physician Assistant Graduate Program from Trevecca Nazarene prior to joining our team in 2009.

Michael Hoag, PT, MBA, OCS
Operations Manger
Michael Hoag, PT, MBA, OCS is our Operations Manager and a Physical Therapist with more than 12 years experience providing outpatient orthopedic physical therapy care to the Knoxville, TN community. Mike has earned the prestigious credentials of an Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS), ensuring that our patients receive quality care from highly trained specialists.
Michael has significant experience assisting individuals return to work. His expertise includes directing work conditioning programs and development of pre-employment screening tools. He focuses on an exercise-based therapeutic program, complemented with manual therapy interventions.
Michael received his B.S. in Health from the University of Richmond in 1993 and a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Texas Woman’s University in 1995. He went on to graduate from the University of Tennessee with his MBA in 2000 and is currently in the DPT Program with the University St. Augustine. He is an ABPTS Orthopedic Certified Specialist and a Licensed Physical Therapist in Tennessee.
Deena White, PT, CSCS
Physical Therapist
Deena White, PT, CSCS is a Physical Therapist with more than 18 years experience in outpatient orthopedics, sports medicine, and work rehabilitation. Deena has helped patients regain skills in a wide variety of settings, working in six states as the spouse of a recently retired Air Force Officer. We are pleased that Deena has been a valuable member of our Physical Therapy Team since 2007.
Deena completed her Master of Physical Therapy Degree at the University of Iowa. She earned an Associate of Science in Physical Therapy Degree Assistant and Bachelor of Science in Pre-Physical Therapy from Southern Illinois University.
Annemarie Gray, PT
Physical Therapist
Annemarie Gray, PT, is a Physical Therapist with over 10 years of experience in orthopedics and sports medicine. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Tennessee, Memphis. Annemarie joined Active Life Physical Therapy in 2010.
